A Center for Restorative Solutions

Serving the Greater Seattle Area

My conversations with parents in the pandemic bring me present to just how challenging this time has been for families. Work is as demanding as ever, Schools are expecting parents to manage home schooling, and children of all ages are experiencing isolation, and loss of separation of school and home. The challenges are overwhelming, and that's before we even add the anxiety and impact of being in the middle of a global trauma! Informed the workshop I held for the Mercer Island Library community, I am drawn to hold space for parents to get some self care, and support around how to juggle everything , and to some self connection to be able to hold your own needs at the same. Please join me.

Warmly,

Pam Orbach

How to Hold your Needs in the Time of Covid-19

TBA

Parents, how are you doing — are there so many demands it's hard to know where to focus?

We will spend Two and a half hours:

  • Engaging in some empathy practices
  • Deepen self connection
  • Getting clarity about what really matters in the chaos.
  • We will look at brain science - the role of our physically and socially programmed brain reactions, Considering how that can impact our behavior and our reactivity.
  • We will envision how we want to move forward in ways that speak to our values and meet needs with intentionality and clarity.

We will decide if our needs are met, or if we want to do more on a follow on call...

Voice of Past Participants

"Thank you so much for being the backbone of our community with great ideas of support at just perfect times!  Just like all the other events the library organizes, and the speakers you choose to bring, yesterday's was great."

"After talking with another parent I didn't know, and finding out how much we had in common, I felt like we were best friends!"

"I really enjoyed the discussion, exercise, and just an opportunity to connect over the issues other parents can relate to."
