A Restorative Approach to Support a Culture of Compassion
HAVING THE HARD CONVERSATION:

OBJECTIVES
- Learn about creating restorative container
- Distinction between Traditional/Punitive Justice and Restorative Justice (Intentions as opposed to agreements and rules)
- Distinction between what we are “Doing” together and how we are “Being” together
- Engage in practices that build trust, relationship, and connection
- Shift thought and action away from moralistic judgment, punishment or the shaming of punitive justice towards self-responsibility, and accountability with focus on values and attention to repair and restore relationships and to transform culture
- Expand empathy and compassion, creating space for numerous perspectives and all voices
